Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) more popularly known as her professional moniker Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be signed to J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. Her debut EP Pho, released which was released on 21 October 2016 was released by Dreamville Records. She began to gain notoriety. The album that she released as her debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading music online in the year 2012, when she released her first mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. The year 2014 saw her continue to share her music over the internet, including her self release single Bound. On July 21st, 2015. Omen featured her on Elephant Eyes' track Sweat It Out. J. Cole had her send her songs for the Dreamville Team later in the year because he was hoping for Rihanna to work together on a few references. The news was released on December 8 that she had signed with Dreamville Records. Backseat is a track that she recorded with Cozz for The Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. On the 21st of October in 2016, her Pho EP was released. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change, and she performed in The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as the opening act. in 2018, the singer-songwriter appeared on two tracks with EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, and Bas, on Icarus. The debut album of Ari Lennox Shea Butter Baby was released on the 16th of July, 2018. The album's first single, Whipped Cream The album's first single, Whipped Cream was released on September 5, 2018 with a music video. On November 9 she dropped two more singles: 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. On November 13 she then released two more singles called The No One as well as Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby is a track she sang alongside Cole on the soundtrack to Creed II on the 16th of November. It was then released as a single on its own in February 2019, to coincide with the release of her debut album. The song was followed by a music video on February 20 2019 and surpassed 3 million views via YouTube in one week. In support of the track she performed together with 6LACK during December 2018 on The From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
