Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actress best recognized for her role as detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue, for which she was awarded an Emmy Award. Her most well-known role is her role in All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney was the child of an executive in the United Auto Workers who was also the mother of her children. Delaney has four older brothers. While she was a small girl, Delaney wanted to be a court-reporter. In highschool her modeling career began when she was able to model for commercials and after moving New York. She starred in 1981 as an innocent teen in All My Children. Since then, Delaney has been in a variety of films television movies and dramas. Contrary to her career success, her personal life is not happy and prosperous. She has been in the past accomplished actress battled addiction to alcohol, and was married twice only to fail. She was divorced in 2005 and lost custody of the sole child that she had.
